BIOGRAPHY
Ana Claudia Talancón was born on May 1, 1980 in Cancún, Mexico. Her first performance was in her hometown. She is the great-granddaughter of the singer Alfonso Ortiz Tirado . She studied acting in Cancun with Cuban professor Albio Paz. She later went to Mexico City to continue her studies at the Taller de Actuación of Héctor Mendoza and Raúl Quintanilla. She has starred in several soap operas such as Al norte del corazón , Señora , Romántica obsession (for which she won the Sol de Oro award in 1999 for Best New Actress) and Amor latino .

Her big screen debut was with the role of Valentina in Marisa Sistach’s The Comet (1999), for which she was nominated for the Ariel Award for Best New Actress. Her performance as Amelia in The Crime of Father Amaro (2002), with Gael García Bernal, gave her international recognition as she was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2002. One of her best-known roles It is Charlie in Soy tu fan (2010-2012), a series created by Dolores Fonzi and Constanza Novick. The series was broadcast on Canal Once, as well as the role she played in Arráncame la vida (2008), based on the novel of the same name Ángeles Mastretta. In addition to being well-known in the national industry, Talancón has been cast in different Hollywood projects, including A Lost Call (2008), The Dry Land (2010), among others.
