Clearfield County man charged in teen's overdose death

A Clearfield County man is facing charges for allegedly supplying drugs to a teenager who overdosed and died.

On Aug. 3, 2022, the 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

According to a probable-cause affidavit, the boy was a co-worker and friend of 36-year-old Dennis Demoss, of Munson.

According to the affidavit, on July 28, 2022, Demoss supplied the boy with fentanyl, and the teen overdosed at Demoss’ Hardscrabble Road home.

Demoss is charged with multiple offenses, including felonies for drug delivery resulting in death, child endangerment and criminal use of a communication facility.

He was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge James Glass, of Houtzdale, and was sent to the Clearfield County Correctional Facility with his bail denied.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 29 before District Judge Jerome Nevling, of Kylertown.
