CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — UPDATE #2: Clearfield County District Attorney William Shaw said police initially reported all four occupants were accounted for, but surveillance footage showed female human remains were found in the first floor apartment.

According to Shaw, gas valves were turned off in July.

The identity, cause of death and cause of explosion are unknown.

State police and the fire marshal are investigating.

Police say several crews were on the scene and were able to contain the fire to one building.

Witnesses on the scene say the explosion sounded like loud pops.

One witness at a Ford Dealership across the street says he felt the building shake from the explosion.

ORIGINAL STORY: Multiple crews are responding to a structure fire in Clearfield County.

According to the Clearfield Borough Fire Department, the fire broke out at a structure along East Market Street Friday morning.

Authorities have not said if anyone was inside the structure at the start of the fire.
