DETROIT (WKRC) - The Ford Motor Company has recalled over 100,000 top-selling vehicles.
According to USA Today,Ford Motor Company announced on May 24, that it is recalling 109,283 Lincoln Aviator SUVs over an issue with the rearview camera. Per the outlet, the accessory protocol image module (APIM) can possibly be affected by electromagnetic interference from a cellphone inside the vehicle.
The interaction can cause the rearview camera image to flicker or become distorted, which can increase the risk of a crash.
The following vehicles are impacted by the recall:
- Certain 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviators
The company advised owners to not use cellphones inside the vehicle while reversing until a fix is completed. If you have an affected vehicle, you can take it to a Lincoln dealership to have shielding installed at no cost.
Owner notification letters will be mailed out on July 8.
