HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Huntingdon County say more charges have been filed against a Penn State professor who is accused of engaging in various sexual acts at a public park.
In June, police charged Themis Matsoukas after they say he was caught on camera at Rothrock State Forest engaging in sexual acts with his dog.
Authorities say following the initial investigation, police obtained search warrants for Matsoukas' electronic devices, where troopers reportedly discovered over 50 videos of Matsoukas engaged in various lewd acts at Alan Seeger State Park.
According to the criminal complaint, police say one of the videos allegedly showed Matsoukas standing on top of a park pavilion performing sexual acts with a tree branch.
Police say additional videos also reportedly showed Matsoukas performing sexual acts inside DCNR equipment located at the park.
Investigators noted that multiple videos showed Matsoukas attempting to "act casual" if a vehicle or other park goers are nearby.
According to two other criminal complaints, police reportedly discovered more videos that were taken at various camps within the park, including one video in which Matsoukas allegedly performed sexual acts on himself with a lollipop and then "pleasures himself" inside a pond.
Troopers say the owner of one of the camps later recalled viewing trail camera videos, from years prior, that allegedly captured a partially nude hiker. Police did not confirm whether or not those photos matched Matsoukas' description.
Police say other videos allegedly showed Matsoukas on a picnic table at one of the camps while performing sexual acts involving flowers and "fecal matter."
According to online court records, police say Matsoukas was arraigned Monday morning on various charges, including open lewdness, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. He has been released on unsecured bail.
Following his initial arrest, Penn State University officials had confirmed that Matsoukas was, "relieved of his responsibilities and placed on leave."
6 News has reached back out to the university for any additional update on Matsoukas' employment status and received an identical statement.
