DALLAS (CelebrityAccess) — The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly agreed to a deal that would seem them opt-out of the NFL’s ticketing agreement with Ticketmaster and bring SeatGeek as the team’s ticket services vendor for primary tickets at AT&T Stadium.
SeatGeek, which until recently, has focused primarily on secondary ticketing, is ramping up its primary ticketing business and the move follows a primary ticket deal with the New Orleans Saints that was announced in November.
As well, the Detroit Lions switched to Veritix for the 2013 season, but are weighing returning to the Ticketmaster fold, ESPN reported, citing unnamed sources.
Per the ESPN report, the Cowboys are an attractive partner for any ticketing company as the team sells more season tickets to its 100,000-seat stadium than any other team in the league.
However, the timing may prove challenging for SeatGeek, as the news of the deal comes just two months before the NFL schedule for 2018 is released.
Representatives for the Cowboys and SeatGeek both declined to comment to ESPN.
