Samantha Ponder, formerly Samantha Steele, was born on December 11, 1985, in Phoenix, Arizona. She was raised by missionary parents Cindi and Jerry Steele.
Her parents founded M.A.D. Ministries, a non-profit organization, that focuses on providing education, college scholarships, athletic training, housing, and spiritual guidance to young people.
