WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The death of a White Plains woman thought to have jumped from her Barker Avenue apartment building Sunday night was ruled a suicide in a medical examiner's report, police said.

The 55-year-old woman, whose name was not released, lived in the Kingsley House apartment complex at 41 Barker Ave. Police responding to 911 calls found her body on the ground outside the building about 6:30 p.m.

She was taken to White Plains Hospital Center and was pronounced dead minutes later.

One resident of the building said Sunday that a fellow tenant knocked on his door to tell him that someone had jumped from the building and died, though neither knew who it was.
