World Bosses in Diablo 4

There are three World Bosses that can currently spawn across the vast landscape of Sanctuary, which are:

Each battle against these giant foes is a multi-stage fight, where you have just 15 minutes to slay the boss. For this reason, up to 12 players can join the World Boss fight at once, and the bigger the team, the better your chances.

Ashava uses two slicing blades on her forearms to cleave away at players, along with a strong jaw and sharp teeth that can take you down in one bite. When she's not swiping and biting, she'll coat the ground in poison creating a chaotic battlefield where you'll be constantly on the move to keep up with her.

Wandering Death is a mutating skeletal enemy, that will regularly slam the ground to catch you out. Expect to be trapped occasionally by bone circles that explode after a charged attack, as well as beams of death that can take you out the moment they touch you.

Cursed by gold but blessed with teleportation, Avarice will dash through portals to skip around the arena. Using both an enormous hammer and a locked treasure chest tightly in its grip, it will swing and cleave at players from all directions. Watch out for pools of gold as Avarice vomits, alongside exploding gold nodes that are ignited by hammer blows.

WorldBossGuide.png

If you're successful in managing to take down one of the World Bosses, you can expect plenty of loot as a reward for the tough fight including Scattered Prisms. These rare crafting materials can be used at Jewelers to add sockets to your weapons.

Gold and XP will be scaled to your level, while some of the drops will be dependent on the World Tier you're playing in. However, you can also expect World Bosses to drop Legendary and Unique items, as well as a Grand Cache as part of the Weekly Bonus Spoils.

At World Tier III: Nightmare, you can expect World Bosses to drop Sacred items of different rarities, additional Scattered Prisms and Nightmare Sigils that can be used to transform specific dungeons into Nightmare Dungeons.

World Bosses and the Tree of Whispers

Once you've completed the main campaign of Diablo 4, you'll unlock the Tree of Whispers as an activity. Whispers will appear around the map for a limited time and can be completed to gain Grim Favors. These Grim Favors are then exchanged at the Tree of Whispers for item collections and occasionally, Legendary Caches.

Every now and then World Bosses will appear as Whispers. It's worth taking on the World Bosses, especially when they appear as Whispers, to maximize your rewards.
